Adebayo Adelabu won the Oyo APC Gubernatorial primary election after all aspirants bow out.

One of the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial aspirants, Chief Niyi Akintola, said he pulled out of the race against the wish of his immediate family members. While announcing his withdrawal, the legal luminary said he withdrew because he felt cheated. “I have not really benefited anything from my struggle. “I am taking this decision against the wish of my immediate family. I have listened to the advice of our party leaders.” His withdrawal thereby make Bayo Adelabu becomes the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling party.

ADITU gathered that, the ghastly incident happened around 7.00am along Igbo-Ora / Idere road. According to a reliable Source, the truck said to had been on high-speed, ran into the nursing mother and her child while standing by the roadside. Horribly, the victims died on the spot subsequently, the driver fleed the scene immediately he realized his atrocity. Consequently, the truck was set ablaze by mob. INEC Announces Date For Osun Governorship Election Rerun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Thursday September 27 as the new date for a rerun after Saturday’s inconclusive Osun State governorship election. Announcing the results on Sunday afternoon, Joseph Afuwape, INEC’s Returning Officer, had said Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled254,699, while his closest challenger, Isiaka Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 254,345 votes. Since the total number of cancelled votes (3,486) exceeds the difference between the two leading parties (353), Afuwape said it was impossible for him to declare any party as winner. Thursday’s supplementary contest will be a straight battle between Adeleke and Oyetola, as the rerun will hold only in the seven polling units where results were cancelled.

Breaking: INEC declares Osun election inconclusive

Candidates The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Saturday’s Osun election as inconclusive. Osun election The Returning Officer the declaration was because the number of cancelled votes was higher than the margin between the two top candidates. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke scored 25698, while the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola scored 256345. The total number of voided votes is 3498. The Returning Officer said the rescheduled election will be held at a date yet to be announced. Also, eariler the Adeleke Campaign organisation had asked INEC, not to declare Osun election inconclusive. Chairman of Esan West local government area , Hon Patrick Aguinede, has faulted the Nigeria Police report that the killing of some students at a graduation party on Tuesday night was cult related. Hon Aguinede said investigation showed that there was disagreement among some ‘G-boys ’ also known as Yahoo Yahoo , over money sharing. Some final year students of the Ambrose Alli University , Ekpoma and a female member of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) were killed by gunmen at the party . Fatal accident at Igbo-Ora as vehicle set ablaze by aggrieved people

Speaking with a witness, he made known to us that the car moved without being on the look out before making his way to the major lane from the the mechanic workshop as a bike man having a passenger was crushed, the bike man, Akeem Babarinde was said dead and the passenger was injured. Babarinde Nafisat, the wife of the deceased,  spoke with 'Aditu' crew confirming the sudden death of her husband. Osun Lawmaker Loses N 38m To Fraudsters

Osogbo High Court An Osogbo High Court in Osun on Wednesday remanded eight persons in Ilesa prison for allegedly defrauding an Osun lawmaker of N 38 million. The accused including Kazeem Agbabiaka ,40 , Abdulrasheed Ojonla , 45 , Femi Oyebode ,30 , Babatunde Oluajo ,50 , and Adebiyi Kehinde , 42 are being tried for conspiracy and fraud. Other accused are Oyebamiji Oyeniyi, 32 , Ismaila Azeez, 45 , and Awodunmola kehinde , 44 . The Magistrate , Mr Olusegun Ayilara, ordered them to be remanded in prison custody until Sept. 28 when their plea would be taken. The Prosecutor , ASP John Idoko told the court that the accused committed the offences between April and July in Oluajo area of Osogbo . NLC Insists On Strike After 14-days Ultimatum

The Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) says it will commence nationwide strike after the expiration of its 14 days ultimatum given to the Federal Government on the new minimum wage. Mr Ayuba Wabba , NLC president, said this while addressing newsmen at the end of the National Executive Council ( NEC ) meeting of the congress on Wednesday in Abuja. Wabba said that the industrial action would become necessary if orgnised labour ’s demand to reconvene the Tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage for workers was not met .
