Shocking: Tanker crushes three to death, injures two in Ibadan

It was a piteous sight today at Ring road, Ibadan as a motorcyclist, a nursing mother with her child were reportedly crushed to death and two others injured in a ghastly tanker accident few hours ago.

It was gathered that, the tanker driver from hell lost control of its wheel and subsequently ran into a 18-passenger bus while its passengers were alighting and a motorcyclist on motion at the Oni & Son bus stop.



Consequently, the driver absconded immediately after the incident happened.

According an Eyewitness who spoke with Aditu, Ahmed Oyewola, this junction had been a death trap for a long time as such incident has been happening in the area.

Also speaking, Sunday Adebayo, as passengers were alighting from the bus at the bus stop.


Suddenly, the tanker ran into it and killed the motorcyclist, a nursing mother and her child.

Also, Olatunde Opaleye, there is a slop at the roundabout which motorists tries to elude thus, some finds it difficult to balance and most times, that leads to an accident.


However, he urged the Oyo state government to mold bumps at shop rite junction which would serve as Stop-over or contruct a pesdestrial bridge as to prevent such occurrence from happening next time.

The corpses has been taken to a unknown mortuary and those injured to a nearby hospital for treatment by the Oyo state Federal Road Safety Service Corps.
